“I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
The week following Holy Week can feel like a bit of a spiritual exhale. After walking through the final days of Jesus’ earthly life—His suffering, death, and ultimately His resurrection—Easter Sunday brings joy and celebration. And then… Monday comes. It might be tempting to feel a bit let down.
But here’s the encouragement: the presence of Jesus didn’t stay in the tomb, and it certainly didn’t stay in the upper room. His promise remains true in every season: “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
We carry the hope of Easter into every ordinary day because our Savior lives.
I’m especially thankful for the tangible ways God reminds us of His love. Scripture tells us, “He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord.” My wife is one of the greatest expressions of God’s favor in my life.
There are moments—especially when I feel least deserving of love, grace, and forgiveness—that she offers those gifts freely. Her commitment to me inspires a deeper desire to love, serve, and cherish her in return.
In many ways, that mirrors God’s relationship with us. Even when we falter, He remains faithful. Even when we feel unworthy, His love doesn’t waver.
God’s relationship with us is not based on performance but on promise.
Not rooted in what we’ve done, but in who He is.
And so today, in the quiet after Easter, may we remember:
He is still risen.
He is still present.
He is still for us.
Cling to His promise. Live in His presence.
