Premarital Counseling Ministry

Preparing for marriage is about more than planning a wedding. It is about laying a biblical foundation for a lifetime of oneness.

At Christian Family Life, we help engaged couples prepare for marriage through trusted, Gospel-centered resources and premarital counseling designed to strengthen their relationship before they say, “I do.”

One of our primary resources is Getting Married? Four Questions to Consider, a practical booklet designed to help pastors, lay leaders, and engaged couples walk through essential principles for building a thriving Christian marriage.

We believe the more a couple turns to the Bible for instruction, looks to Christ as their model, and depends on the Holy Spirit for guidance, the stronger their marriage will become.

This resource helps couples explore four important questions:

  • Why Get Married?
  • Are Compatibility and Good Intentions Enough?
  • How Can We Live Happily Ever After?
  • How Can We Cultivate Authentic Intimacy?

Each session includes discussion questions that encourage honest conversation, deeper reflection, and practical application. As an option, each of our staff members is trained through Prepare/Enrich, a compatibility assessment, to help couples understand their areas of strength and growth. This resource can encourage conversations about areas where the couple is flourishing while navigating potential areas of conflict.

While there is always more that can be shared with an engaged couple, we believe these four questions address some of the most important foundations for a healthy Christian marriage.

Couples may also choose to work through the Two Becoming One Couple’s Set as part of their premarital counseling. This provides a deeper discipleship pathway for couples who want to build their marriage on biblical truth, intentional communication, and a faith-centered understanding of God’s design for marriage.

Whether you are an engaged couple, pastor, mentor, or church leader, our goal is to help you prepare couples not just for a wedding day, but for a marriage that reflects Christ and lasts a lifetime. God created marriage, and He can make it work.
