“Your way, O God, is holy. What god is great like our God? You are the God who works wonders; you have made known your might among the peoples.” Psalm 77:13-14
Spring is a beautiful season! Growing up in Miami, Tammy and I often heard phrases like “Spring is in the air” and time for “Spring cleaning.” We understood the words, but we really felt their reality when we moved to North Carolina and saw the transition from winter to spring, how flowers would begin to emerge from the ground and dormant trees began to show signs of new life.
I wonder how many of you feel as though you are walking in a season of winter in your marriage? Things seem dormant, cold, and distant. Perhaps you’ve heard stories of God’s redemptive power restoring romance, but you long to experience it in your own marriage.
Here’s the good news: you only doubt God when you believe your situation is beyond His power to redeem. Just as winter yields to spring, God can breathe life back into relationships that feel frozen. His power is not limited by past mistakes, unmet expectations, or seasons of distance. God can breathe life back into your life and marriage.
Cece Winans released a song in 2020 titled “Never Lost” with this encouraging chorus:
You can do all things
You can do all things but fail
Cause You’ve never lost a battle
No You’ve never lost a battle
And I know, I know
You never will
Let this be your anthem today: God has never lost a battle in your marriage, and He will not lose this one. Lean into Him, pray together, forgive where necessary, and trust Him to bring a spring of renewal.
Even when your marriage feels like winter, remember: God is at work, and His power can make all things new. We’re praying and believing this for your marriage.
