Invite god’s presence into your marriage

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.”  Romans 15:13

It’s that time of year! The weather is cooler, the leaves are turning, and there’s a sense of change in the air. Maybe you’ve found yourself saying, “I can’t wait…” Whether it’s the anticipation of a holiday, a gathering with loved ones, or simply soaking in the beauty of a new season, there’s a hopeful expectation that fills our hearts with joy and peace.

But I know that for some, even reading those words might bring a sense of sadness or frustration. You might be wondering, “What is there to be hopeful about?” When we focus on the world and only glance at Jesus, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by uncertainty and anxiety. But when we shift and choose to stare at Jesus and only glance at the world, we’re reminded that it is God who fills us with all hope!

The realities of life can take a toll on your marriage. Sometimes just getting through each day feels like more than you can handle. The demands of life can create distance between you and your spouse, and negativity creeps in, leaving you feeling drained and hopeless.

But here’s the good news: It’s the power of the Holy Spirit at work within us that strengthens us. He gives us the ability to approach each day with joy, to rejoice in the day the Lord has made, and to abound in hope regardless of our circumstances.

Today, let’s fix our eyes on Jesus. Let’s trust that He will fill us with the joy and peace we need, not only to face whatever comes our way but to thrive in it. Together, may we invite His presence into our marriage, allowing His hope to renew and restore us.  Be intentional to speak words of joy, peace, and abounding hope over your spouse today.
