Roland Martinez

Roland was born in Miami to a good Cuban family, eating good Cuban food, drinking good Cuban coffee and faithfully supporting all Miami sports teams! Go Heat! (Being in NC, he can find a little room in his heart to support the Carolina Panthers, too). Most of all, he is very thankful to have surrendered his life to Christ at a young age and the stability provided him by his maternal grandparents, who raised him.

He has been in full time ministry since 1994. It was that same year, in July, that Roland married the love of his life, Tammy. Since then, God has blessed them with a quiver full of six children. Their daughters Marissa, Mandy, Abi, and Brianna were born in 95, 97, 99 and 01. God wasn’t done yet. In 2005 and later in 2011, God blessed them with two sons, Cai and Lucas.

The Lord has given Roland many opportunities to serve in various aspects of ministry, from teaching and administration in Christian education, to coaching, to various pastoral roles in the local church, and Chaplain work with professional athletes and first responders. They spent 3 years of ministry in Miami. Then 10 years of ministry in the Naples/Ft. Myers area of Florida. They now reside in Huntersville, NC.

Roland now serves as the President of Christian Family Life.  Christian Family Life is a ministry that was founded in 1971 with the mission to help marriages thrive around the world by training Marriage Disciplers who build, enrich, and reconcile relationships.  He is certified through Prepare/Enrich to provide mentoring to pre-engaged, engaged, and married couples in crisis, and has formal training in nouthetic counseling.  He is passionate about great commission work through the platfom of marriage in the local community as well as Cuba and other Caribbean and Latin American countries.

Kent & Michelle Sterchi

Kent and Michelle Sterchi were united in marriage on June 4, 1983 in Orlando, Florida and daily depend upon the love, grace, and mercy of God for oneness in their marriage. They have two grown children, Lindsay, who married Elliott Drake in 2006, lives in Monument, Colorado with their 3 beautiful children Avery, Lucas and Linton. Their son John married Kate in 2010 and they have followed their dreams and live in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Kent has faithfully served in both para-church and church ministry positions over the past 30 years.  Most recently, he served as Minister of Discipleship at First Presbyterian Church of Orlando. Michelle loved being a stay at home mom and during those years led numerous women’s bible studies, mentored young moms, and has a vital prayer ministry. Together, Kent and Michelle have counseled and married over 75 couples during the past 15 years, following their growing passion to prepare engaged couples for marriage by using both the Prepare/Enrich assessment and truths from God’s Word to establish a biblical foundation for the covenant of marriage.

The Sterchi’s were first introduced to Don and Sally Meredith in the early 1990’s when they participated in a pilot small group for the Meredith’s 2 Becoming 1 marriage study. It was there that they personally experienced the transforming work of God’s grace to move from a performance based marriage to a faith based marriage. They both felt a growing burden to share these truths with other married couples and began to facilitate many 2 Becoming 1 small groups in their home.

Over the past 2 years God has made it very clear that He was preparing the Sterchi’s to form DWELL, a Ministry to Strengthen Marriages, and to partner with Christian Family Life as Marriage Missionaries.  God has been opening doors not only to continue pre-marital counseling but also for them to lead 2 Becoming 1 marriage retreats for local couples in the Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, El Salvador and Madagascar. The Sterchi’s share how God has done abundantly more than they could have ever dreamed or imagined in their lives and marriage. They are humbled to teach His unchanging truths to others and consider it a joy to work together as husband and wife, and to witness first hand the miraculous, transforming power of God at work in marriages all around the world.
