“In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” — Ephesians 6:16–17
Marriage is not ultimate, Jesus is!
But from the very beginning, God chose a wedding of sorts to bring mankind into existence, and He designed the multiplication of His crown jewel, humanity, to happen within the covenant of marriage.
That’s why the enemy attacks marriage so fiercely. When marriages falter, the ripple effects are devastating—not just in the home, but in dating relationships, families, churches, and entire communities.
The Battle We Face
Marriage is under relentless attack. Satan knows that when the bonds of marriage loosen, families fracture, and the Church’s witness weakens. Thankfully, God has equipped us with spiritual weapons: the shield of faith, the sword of the Spirit, and the full armor.
Here are the urgent facts we’re up against:
- 80% of churchgoers grew up in married homes, while this family structure is increasingly rare across the U.S.
- 72% of American churches lack a substantive marriage ministry, leaving families without the support they desperately need.
- Millennials raised in married homes are 78% more likely to attend church regularly than their peers from unmarried homes, highlighting how marriage continuity fuels faith for the next generation.
- In many congregations, 80% of evangelical churches, 82% of Catholic parishes, and 94% of mainline churches allocate zero budget to marriage and relationship ministries.
Despite marital struggles being common, 93% of pastors report feeling unqualified to counsel couples in crisis—yet many are the first (and only) call couples make when in trouble.
These are not just statistics; they’re signs of spiritual urgency. Without the structure of loving, covenant marriages, faith transmission stalls. That’s why Christian Family Life is laser-focused on equipping marriages to flourish—for the sake of the Gospel, the Church, and society.
The CFL Mission
Christian Family Life is living out the Great Commission work through the platform of marriage. We equip couples to live out their faith vertically with God so it transforms their horizontal, everyday relationships.
Here’s how:
- Biblical Content Creation: Resources for couples at every stage.
- Training & Equipping: Preparing leaders to disciple marriages in their churches.
- Small Groups, Conferences, Retreats, and Counseling: Premarital, crisis, and enrichment.
- Global Mission: Taking marriage discipleship to Cuba, Central America, South America, and beyond.
Our vision is clear: Marriage Discipleship in every community, every church, and every country.
How You Can Help
This work can’t happen without you. Your generosity fuels the mission and ensures no couple is left without hope.
- $50 equips one couple with biblical marriage resources.
- Recurring Gifts: Our goal is to add $10,000/month in recurring giving to sustain ongoing ministry.
- Topgolf Charlotte (Oct 4) & Ft. Myers (Nov 8): Join us at one of our fundraising events to directly invest in marriages while enjoying a great day with others.
Together, we can transform obstacles into opportunities—one marriage, one family, one community at a time.
